CCM includes their top-of-the-line D3O smart material in the AS-V model. D3O has a unique molecular structure which allows molecules to flow freely in standard conditions, giving the material a soft and flexible feel. On impact, the molecules lock together to absorb and dissipate impact energy, reducing the amount of force transmitted to your body. This means that the stronger the impact, the more the molecules react, offering you unparalleled protection. 

CCM strategically positions D3O technology in the AS-V model to offer the best combination of protection and comfort. In the calf, D3O smart material is partnered with exposed injection molded foam with PE inserts. These technologies combine to produce excellent shot blocking protection. In the kneecaps, JDP construction is reinforced with D3O(SR Only) for a pro-level cap designed to disperse the force of impact away from the knee.

The Tacks AS-V shins have a length adjustable dual calf strap and an upper lock strap. These combine to secure the top and bottom of the shin pad to your leg, and the adjustable strap allows for some customization based on the size of your calf and the feel you’re looking for.
